Educator Training & Certification
Structured Literacy and the Orton-Gillingham Approach
The Children’s Dyslexia Centers’ graduate-level courses are accredited at the Teaching, Instructor of Teaching, Therapy, and Instructor of Therapy levels by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC©). School teachers and other qualified individuals with a Bachelor’s degree can receive training and professional development to become certified.
What Are The Higher Education Requirements?
Applicants for our IMSLEC© accredited initial course must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
How Long Does It Take?
This course takes a minimum of nine months. Course participants must complete a minimum of 100 hours of supervised practicum, course readings, and assignments.
What Happens Following The Course?
Successful completion of our Teaching level course leads to certification as a Dyslexia Practitioner 1.
Participants who successfully complete our Teaching level course may apply for further training in advanced coursework. Each center sets its own course schedule. Please contact your local center for more information about our courses.
