In some cases, a child’s school may be able to conduct the necessary testing. In other cases, families may choose to seek an evaluation from an outside professional, such as a licensed psychologist or other qualified specialist.

Children’s Dyslexia Centers, Inc., does not provide diagnostic evaluations or make referrals to specific providers. Families are encouraged to consult with their school, pediatrician, or insurance provider to identify qualified professionals. Checking with your insurance carrier can also help determine which services and providers are covered within your network.

National organizations, such as the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), offer directories of professionals and general guidance to help families explore their options.
